From Our Chaos to Yours

Christmas and New Year blessings from our chaos to yours ✨

May your leftovers be plentiful and your laundry be light. May you wake up from a nap of contentment smothered in drool. May the Lego creations come in hot and fast, and may your toddler be easily cleaned when he paints his face with mascara 👀 May comparison be scarce and gratitude abound, receiving the good gifts right in front of you. May you find yourself with a hot cuppa in a quiet moment, or chilled bubbly in a roaring room (whichever you prefer), and snap a mental polaroid of everything you want to hold onto. And most of all, when a familiar ache runs deep, may gutsy hope soothe your soul like never before.

Lots of love to you all.

P.S. I’m still on a social media break to let my wee frazzled brain hibernate with books and cheese and highly emotional sugar-driven children. I hope it looks something like this, but I’m waiting for my offspring to get on board with the vision.

If you’re in the market for something to read during these in-between days, my Advent devotional is the perfect four-chapter ebook to end the year. It’s for the doubter and the depressed, the one limping through the holidays with personal pain in one hand and the public chaos of this world in the other. It’s for those of us struggling to believe we are held in the palm of the Promise Keeper’s hand. Get it here.

Or, if you’re in the mood for something short and lyrical with a dash of self-deprecating humour, you can read my favourite essays from 2023 here and here. Thank you for putting up with my ramblings and writings all year round. I recognise my words come in fits and bursts, sparse and sporadic, and I am so very thankful you are still here. I have zero plans to reproduce another human any time soon, so maybe 2024 will be the year I salvage my writing routine. Who knows? See you on the other side, friends!

Reb—out.
